ENGINE START SYSTEM

HYDRAULIC START SYSTEM

Hydraulic starting systems store energy in the form of hydraulic oil under pressure inside a piston accumulator. The oil is released by a manually operated foot valve or a solenoid-operated start valve. Once released, the oil travels to the starter motor which engages with the engine’s ring gear and starts to crank the engine.

PNEUMATIC START SYSTEM

A pneumatic start system, also known as an air starter, uses compressed air to start diesel engines and turbines. The compressed Air is released by a manually operated push button or a solenoid-operated start valve. Once released, the air travels to the starter motor which engages with the engine’s ring gear and starts to crank the engine.

SPRING START SYSTEM

A spring starters convert stored potential energy, in the form of a wound-up spring, into rotational kinetic energy used to turn over and start the engine. The energy is released by pushing a lever on the starter. Pinion will engage with the engine’s ring gear and start to crank the engine.
